Search for...
Since when did adverts stop giving out web addresses, and start saying "Search for X online..."? I always though that it would be amusing to setup a Google Bomb for one of these ads, but I don't even need to bother any more. A recent ad for the movie "I am Number Four" says that you should Google (not search for - specially "Google") the phrase "Number 4" to find the movie website and enter some kind of Facebook competition. Well, it doesn't work. The first few hits are for IMDB, and then Wikipedia (about the number in general, not the film), and then a bunch of random stuff unrelated to the film. It turns out that the "correct" link is actually in an advert (An advert telling you to find an advert? Yo dawg.), but it doesn't always come up, and if you're using an ad-blocker, you'll never see at all. Dear marketing companies: Just give out the damn web address, OK? Thanks.
